Friday, December 19th, 2014 : Christmas Celebrations
We celebrated Christmas on December 19th, 2014, by having a big party at our school. As the Class One and UKG children dressed in costumes of angels, shepherds, the three wise kings, sheep and the Joseph and Mary came on the stage; Mrs. Paulina Paul Burrows narrated the story of the birth of Jesus. It was followed by LKG children singing ‘Up on the Housetop’ in their loud and clear voice. The teachers took the children by surprise as they went up on the stage to sing Christmas carols. Class One carol singers continued with more carols and as they sang ‘Jingle Bells’ Santa made his entry with the children going in raptures! Brother Benedict finally addressed the children, wishing them joy and happiness, for that’s what Christmas is all about.
Tuesday, December 9th, 2014 : Picture Day at St. Patrick’s Academy
Children grow up so quickly; their pictures are a fine way to document each year of their school life. They will cherish these keepsakes throughout their lives. The school organised ‘Picture Day’ for most of the classes on December 9th and 11th 2014. Our children put on their best smiles and looked straight in the camera to say ‘cheese’. To ensure that the children get photographed with their class teachers, we shall have another session in January, 2015 for the remaining classes.
Saturday, November 15th, 2014 : The Annual Day
St Patrick’s Academy celebrated its first annual day on November 15th, 2014 by presenting a musical, ‘Commotion in the Ocean’, woven around a marine theme. It was a three days event; the build-up started from November 13th when the children came for practice sessions, proceeding to dress rehearsal on the 14th, and culminating on the 15th, the final day.
From the stage set up to the costumes, from the dances to the performances, from light and sound effects to the management of the event, everything was just impeccable. Steering away from the norm of picking out talented students from each class, the whole school participated. The highlight of the programme was the celebration dance where all the students of the school, 421 in total, came up on the stage together to show their solidarity and togetherness.
Friday, October 31st, 2014 : LKG’s Day Out
On October 31st, 2014 all the four sections of Class LKG came together to have a fun-filled day. They sang funny songs, played games, listened to stories and did some craft work out in the lawns of our school.
Friday, September 5th, 2014 : Teachers Day
A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart.
The Teacher’s Day is celebrated to take time and thanks our teachers for educating, inspiring and empowering the children. At our school, class 1 children took the charge of celebrating and entertaining their teachers and friends with a gusto. Kudos to them and of course to all the wonderful teachers!
Friday, August 15th, 2014 : The Independence Day
What does the word ‘independence’ mean to our very young children? To explain this abstract word to our young ones; we termed it as India’s birthday. At St. Patrick’s Academy we all came together to celebrate the diversity through unifying those superficial differences by coming together under the Tricolour with a chant: JAI HO!
As Brother Benedict said while addressing the staff and children that if Mahatma Gandhi could see the children performing, he would have been truly proud of them! Do we need approval from someone else then…?
Monday, August 11th, 2014 : Cooking activity
As it is said that eating is a necessity but cooking is an art. We, at St. Patrick’s Academy, involved the UKG children in this salad making activity.
The children showed a great deal of enthusiasm and surprised the teachers with their innovative ideas. The end result was a wonderful tasty sensory experience for all who participated.
And guess what else did we learn? Vegies are good for health! Bon appetite!
