Monday, September 21st, 2015 : Deputy Congregation Leader, Bro Paul O’Keeffe Visit

Deputy congregation Leader, Bro Paul O’Keeffe from Australia, visited St Patrick’s Academy on September 21, 2015. On the bright and sunny morning at the assembly time Brother was given a traditional Indian welcome by Class 4 children. Mrs. Sheetal Negi introduced brother to the children in simple words telling them that he came from a far off country, Australia. The word Australia caught children’s attention and they were quick to associate it with ‘kangaroos’!
Brother Paul expressed his happiness and admiration over the work done in establishing the school within a short time frame. Addressing the children, Brother told them that he was impressed by their conduct. Showering his blessings and love on them he sang an indigenous Australian song. Later on, accompanied by Brother Benedict, Brother Paul went into all the classrooms to meet the children personally.

On September 11th and 12th , 2015, LKG and UKG sections climbed up to the Activity Hall to come under the spotlight and they literally grabbed the limelight. One after another they took the stage, setting it on fire with their scintillating performances.
Those who did not participate should not feel sad because:
If you haven’t found your talent doesn’t mean that you don’t have one.
Brother Benedict generously praised the children and their teachers for the wonderful show; Mrs. SheetalNegi couldn’t stop herself and joined the children in the after show festivities.

Friday, September 4th, 2015 : Teacher’s Day Celebration

‘Teacher’ is that champion who makes a difference in a child’s life.
To celebrate and express gratitude towards the teachers, on the September 4’Th, children from class third and fourth guided by their teachers, presented a delightfulprogramme. The children took the responsibility of anchoring it themselves which they did it with élan. Teachers totally enjoyed the attention as children merrily cheered for them. Brother Benedict presented congratulated the teachers and gave them a token of appreciation. Well done, teachers! Keep up the good work!

Tuesday, August 25th, 2015 : Spell Bee Competition ( class II, III, IV)

EVERY CHILD CAN LEARN – just not the same way or the same day…
Spellings form the most important and compulsory part of a student’s academic curriculum. This was the main motive of the spell bee competition held on 25 & 26th of August 2015 in S.P.A
Each contestant was asked spellings from a word list. One by one each student was given an opportunity to contest. In the end there were 3 winners from each class – 2, 3 & 4

LKG and UKG Classes in Action
The junior most classes finally took the stage, sending across the message that they have arrived! For the LKGs it was for the first time they faced the audience, their confident, solid; their singing, synchronized and their performance, just perfect! That was verdict given by Brother Benedict and Mrs. SheetalNegi.
The UKG sections, who have already become pros at such events consolidated the fact their performances are no flukes! The purpose of holding such events is to promote all the children which results in building their self-esteem. Way to go KGs!

Friday, August 14th, 2015 : Independence Day Celebration

India’s Birthday Party(L.K.G)
Can we have birthdays without a cake? Certainly not! Celebrating the Independence Day by having India’s Birthday party, the LKG sections came dressed up in their tradition attires on the 14’th August, 2015. They danced, sang and had whale of fun with the teachers getting thoroughly involved in their fun. And the icing on the cake was…cutting the cake to mark the completion of 68 years of independence!

On a very patriotic note, on14th August 2015, SPA celebrated INDIA’S 69th independence day with a lot of enthusiasm and excitement.
The function ws chaired by Brother Bennedict and Mrs. Sheetal Negi in the activity hall. Ms. Jasmine welcomed everyone with a prayer for the country which was followed by a speech from Lavanya Arya and Chaarvi Singhal of class 4. Harshwardhan Mehra of class 4 took the oath for the country which was followed by the prayer for the nation (hymn) sung by the school choir. The audience was enthralled by the U.K.G ‘s performance – We love India (dance). Class 4 left the audience spellbound with the powerful choral recitation – Arambh Hai Prachand. Still continuing with the same aura class 2 students presented a Tableau on d various movements led by our freedom fighters. As if this wasn’t all.!! Class 1 with their India Transforming – a series on how India has come a long way post independence was a strike through. Capturing everyone’s heart,class 3 presented the India Of My Dreams (dance). The final touch was the school choir with Saare Jahaan Se Achcha, a tribute to ever growing glory of the proud nation.. Brother Bennedict addressed the children, blessing them and appreciating the efforts put in for the show.. The programme came to a glorious end with the National Anthem. Tuesday, August 11th, 2015 : Bulletin Board Competition

India is country which has many cultures co-existing together since centuries. We ‘stand united’ to exhibit the core spirit of tolerance, respect and resilience whenever we are challenged. The day 15’Th August, 1947 witnessed the strength of this spirit when we got freedom from the British rule. Thus no wonder the theme for the bulletin boards at SPA in the month of August was ‘United We Stand’. The teachers and the students of all the classes came together to weave saffron, white and green in such a beautiful manner that all we can do is to salute their work. Jai Hind!

Speakers of today.. Orators of tomorrow 21st July 2015, the Tuesday morning was a very exotic one. The confident scholars of class 3 and 4 of SPA were all set for the awaited event of English Declamation. ECA-a necessity or a waste of time, was the topic for class 3. Winners- Dipnit Nanda and Mehul Sethi Can computers replace teachers? was the reason of conflict among the students of class 4. Winners- Chaarvi Singhal and Srijna Ghale

Thursday, July 16th, 2015 : Eid Festival

Festivals give us reasons to celebrate, share happiness and come together. As we live in a multicultural society, understanding and respecting all the religions becomes a part of our learning. Children at the SPA came together on 16’Th July to celebrate Eid in their own inimitable way. As it is said ‘children learn best by doing,’ various craft activities revolving around the occasion were prepared for them. Displaying their work proudly, the little ones posed for cameras saying, ‘Eeeid!’

Friday, May 15th, 2015 : UKG Elocution Day

“The use of poetry in classroom is the best way to reach out to learners of different academic levels by activating the imagination of each individual student.”
Before going on a much awaited and needed summer break, the UKG Sections got an opportunity to go on the stage for the Hindi Poem Elocution on May 15, 2015. Brother Benedict and Coordinator Mrs. SheetalNegi along with UKG children and teachers were there to encourage and little ones. The five sections recited poems from different genres with passion and charmed everyone present with their presentation skills.

Friday, May 1st, 2015 : Labour’s Day

St Patrick’s Academy held a special assembly to honour the support staff on the May 1, the Labour Day. The significance and magnitude of their work was realized and appreciated. Bro. Benedict spoke about the dignity of labour and honoured ‘our indispensables’ by giving them tokens of appreciation. As providing value based education to children is a part of St. Patrick’s Academy curriculum, we ensure that the children learn to treat all those who work at school with respect, regardless of their occupations.

Saturday, April 18th, 2015 : Parents’ Orientation Program

Parents’ Orientation Programme for the new admissions, from UKG to Class 4, was held on April 18, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Academy. It began with lighting of lamp by Bro. Benedict, Bro. Sebastian and Coordinator Mrs. Negi. Following it was a striking rendition of ‘SarswatiVandana’ by the former Class 1 batch. The UKG batch 2014-15 had the audience cheering all the way by their energizing dance performance. Both Bro. Sebastian and Mrs. Negi addressed the new parents, assuring them of the quality education their children would be imparted with at the school.

Saturday, April 11th, 2015 : LKG parents’ Orientation Program

Recognizing the importance of building a smooth and informative transition of the new LKG students and their parents, St Patrick’s Academy organized an orientation programme for them.
The Programme began with lighting of the lamp by Brother Benedict, Coordinator Mrs. Negi and a parent from the new batch as the former LKG children sang a prayer ‘Give me oil in my lamp’. It was followed by a musical presented by the LKG batch 2014-15, ‘Happy in Dehradun’.Following the musical, Brother Benedict addressed the parents, welcoming them to school and assuring them of the best care and education their children would be provided with. For the parents’ better understanding of the school’s policies and rules, Mrs. Negi talked to them; familiarizing them with what their children would experience and learn.The parents felt welcomed, their anxieties removed and minds assured that their children would get the best education and care.
